8 Frame Size Wood Bound Metal Queen Excluder

These 8 Frame wood bound metal queen excluders measures 19 7/8" (L) × 14" (W)- perfect for a standard 8 frame box. The gaps in the excluder are sized to allow the worker bees through to the honey supers but not the larger sized queen. Using an excluder can be a helpful way to stop the queen accessing the honey supers. If the queen lays eggs in the honey supers it can be difficult to harvest clean honey.

The benefits of the wood bound excluder are the wooden frame provides the recommended bee space when placed between boxes. The wooden frames is also a better insulator so less heat escapes from the excluder.
